Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). When she moved to Oxfordshire when she was five, Emma attended The Dragon School. Emma made the decision to become an actor in the age of six. Through the years, she attended the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing dance, acting and singing. When she was ten, she was performing and taking the lead in various Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone was the film of 2001 remake from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was found by agents via an Oxford teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint of their auditions after eight. They were cast as the 3 leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. The movie's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's film debut. The film broke all records for opening day and weekend revenues, and it also became the most successful 2001 film. Film critics praised the film as well as the performance of three acclaimed young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British publication, gave Emma high marks for her impressive performance. Emma's performance was nominated, and she won five awards later in the film.
